Overview

This document provides assembly instructions and operational guidelines for an electric treadmill, designed for home use to improve physical fitness, tone muscles, and aid in weight loss when combined with a calorie-controlled diet. The manual emphasizes safety information, assembly steps, usage instructions, and maintenance tips to ensure safe and effective operation of the equipment.

Function Description

The electric treadmill is a fitness device that allows users to engage in walking or running exercises indoors. It features a running belt driven by an electric motor, a control panel for adjusting settings, and handrails for support. The primary function of the treadmill is to provide a controlled environment for cardiovascular exercise, enabling users to set their own pace and monitor their workout progress. The control panel displays various metrics such as scan, speed, time, distance, and calories burnt, helping users track their performance and achieve their fitness goals. The treadmill is designed to be assembled and spread for use, and then folded for storage, making it suitable for home environments where space might be a consideration. It incorporates an emergency stop switch for immediate cessation of the running belt, enhancing user safety during operation.

Usage Features

The treadmill offers several features to enhance the user experience and ensure safety during workouts.

Safety Precautions: Before starting any exercise program, users are strongly advised to consult a doctor to determine if they have any medical or physical conditions that could pose a risk. The equipment is designed for adult use only, and children and pets should be kept away from it. It must be used on a solid, flat, level surface with at least 0.5 meters of free space around it. Users should wear suitable clothing, avoiding loose items that could get caught in the machinery. In case of any unusual noises or defective components, users must stop immediately and not use the equipment until the problem is rectified. The maximum user weight for this treadmill is 120kg.

Assembly and Spreading: The treadmill requires assembly before first use. This involves attaching the handle supporting frames and the handrail bar to the main treadmill frame. Special attention is needed to connect the computer cables and ensure they are not trapped during assembly. Once assembled, the treadmill can be spread for use by pulling out a tension knob and lifting the running board, then fixing it with a fixed knob. For storage, the running board can be folded up and secured.

Control Panel Operation: The control panel is the central interface for operating the treadmill.

  • Emergency Stop Key: A magnetic safety stop key must be placed on its docking pad on the console before operation. Removing this key will immediately stop the running belt, serving as a crucial safety feature.
  • Power On/Off: The treadmill is powered on by connecting it to an AC mains outlet and flipping the 'on/off' rocker switch at the base. The computer panel is activated by pressing the 'Power' button, which initiates a self-test and a countdown before the running belt starts.
  • Speed Adjustment: The speed of the running belt can be increased or decreased using the "+" and "-" buttons on the control panel. This allows users to gradually adjust their walking or running pace to a comfortable level.
  • Mode Selection: The "Mode" button cycles through different display settings: Scan, Speed (Km/h), Time, Distance, and Calories burnt.
  • Scan Function: When the "Scan" function is selected, the display automatically switches between Speed, Time, Distance, and Calories burnt every 5 seconds, providing a comprehensive overview of the workout.
  • Stopping the Treadmill: To stop the treadmill, users can either gradually slow it down using the "-" button or immediately stop it by removing the emergency stop key from its docking pad.

Exercise Program: The manual outlines a typical exercise program consisting of three phases:

  • Warm-Up Phase: This initial stage helps get blood flowing and muscles working, reducing the risk of cramp and injury. It involves a few stretching exercises, each held for about 30 seconds, without forcing or jerking muscles.
  • Exercise Phase: This is the main workout stage where effort is applied. Users should work at their own pace, maintaining a steady tempo to raise their heart rate into a target zone. This phase should last a minimum of 12 minutes, with most people starting at 15-20 minutes.
  • Cool-Down Phase: This final stage allows the cardiovascular system and muscles to wind down. It involves reducing the tempo for approximately 5 minutes, followed by repeating the stretching exercises from the warm-up phase.

Weight Loss: The manual notes that the amount of effort put into the workout directly correlates with the number of calories burned, which is a key factor in weight loss.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the treadmill.

Belt Adjustment: The treadmill belt is factory-adjusted, but individual users may cause it to shift to one side ("Right" or "Left" footed). If the belt moves, it needs adjustment. This is done by tightening or loosening two adjustment bolts at the rear of the unit. To correct a shift, tighten the bolt on the side towards which the belt has shifted by half a turn and correspondingly loosen the bolt on the other side. The belt should then be rotated smoothly to ensure it is correctly centered. If not, the adjustment process should be repeated.

Cleaning: The running belt can be cleaned with mild soap and water. It is important to remove any excess water after cleaning. The running board underneath the belt should be periodically cleaned with a household furniture polish.

Lubrication: After cleaning, a small amount of silicone spray should be applied to the surface of the running board. This lubrication helps the belt slide more easily, reducing friction and wear.

General Checks: Users should regularly examine the equipment for any damage or wear and tear. Before each use, all nuts and bolts should be checked and securely tightened to ensure the safety of the equipment.

Troubleshooting (Computer): If the computer is not working correctly, users should check if the computer sensor wire is properly plugged into the computer. If the issue persists, ensure that the Magnetic Switch is still working and correctly installed in the computer.

By following these instructions for assembly, usage, and maintenance, users can ensure a safe and effective fitness experience with their electric treadmill.
