The ‘‘Neutral Starting System’’
will not work in emergency
starting. Be sure to set the shift
lever into NEUTRAL position to
prevent start-in-gear when
starting the engine in
emergency. Sudden
unexpected acceleration could
result in serious injury or death.
Exposed moving parts can
cause injury. Use extreme care
when installing the engine
cover. Do not operate the
outboard motor without the
engine cover.
Keep clear of moving parts.
