CHAIN
SLIPPER
Turn
the
ignition
switch
off.
Raise
the rear wheel
off
the
ground
by
placing a
support
block
und
er
the
engine.
Shift
the transmission into neutral.
Inspect the
chain
slipper f
or
wear
or
damage.
SERVI

LIMIT :

mm (0.6 in)
Replace
the
dr
ive chain slipper if
the
thickness ex-
ceeds the service limit.
BATTERY
Remove
th
e
right
side cover.
Insp
ect
the
battery
electrolyte level.
When the
electrolyte
level nears the lower level
mark, remove
the
battery
and add distilled water to
the
upper
level mark.
CAU
TI
ON
Add
o
nl
y distilled water. Tap water will short-
en the service life
of
tile battery.
The battery electrolyte contains sulphuric
acid,

If electrolyte

in
your
eyes, flush {hem
thoroughly wjth water Qnd call Q doctor.

Check
the
brake
pads for wear by looking
under
the
caliper.
Replace the brake pads if
the
brake pads are
wo
rn
down
to
the groove (page 14·51.
CAUTION
Always
replace
the
brake pads
in
pairs
to
as-
sure even disc
pr
essure.
Refer
to
section
14
for brake bleeding procedures.
