GASALERTMICROCLIP FIRMWARE:
Step 2 Downloading fi rmware
a) Go to www.gasmonitors.com
b) Navigate to the GasAlertMicroClip page. From the Home page click:
Portables D Multi-Gas Detectors D GasAlertMicroClip
c) Click on “ ” in the menu on the left
d) Select the fi rmware version needed dependant on the unit’s serial
number. For units with a serial number starting with KA1 select 11H.
For units with a serial number starting with KA2 select 30C.
a Caution: Ensure the fi rmware is 11H or higher or 30B or
higher. If it is not, contact BW Technologies.
e) Complete form and click .
f) The fi le download window appears. Click and save the Zip
fi le on the computer.
g) Open the ZIP fi le and save the fi le contents on the computer.
Step 3 Uploading fi rmware from the computer to the detector
a) Activate the detector and wait for start-up to complete.
b) Connect the IR Link to the detector and the computer USB port.
(Note: For instruction on how to connect the IR Link to the detector and the
computer, refer to the GasAlertMicroClip Soft Tools Instruction Sheet)
c) Open Soft Tools.
(Double click the BW icon on the PC desktop or navigate through the Start menu)
d) Under the “Device Operations” tab, click .
The GasAlertMicroClip Bootloader pop-up displays.
e) Click
.

window opens.
g) Select the fi rmware fi le (124499_GMCF-XXX_bootloadable.bin).
h) Click
.
i) The fi rmware uploads to the detector in approximately 60 seconds.
j) When the upload is complete, “Firmware Upload Successful”
displays.
k) The detector’s fi rmware will now be reconfi gured. The detector’s LCD
displays LOADING and after approximately 10 seconds the detector
deactivates to signal a successful upload.
l) Once the detector is activated again, the latest fi rmware revision will
appear on the LCD during the start-up process.
Please check the BW website periodically to ensure the fi rmware version
loaded on each GasAlertMicroClip is the most current version. If you
require assistance please contact your local BW Sales Manager or a
BW Technologies offi ce.
