Honeywell BW Technologies GasAlertMicroClip User Manual

REQUIREMENTS
To update the GasAlertMicroClip gas detector with the latest fi rmware the
following are required:
1. Updated Firmware Files (version 11H or 30C)
2. GasAlertMicroClip IR Link Cable (GA-USB1-IR)
If you do not have an IR Link cable, contact your local distributor, your Regional Sales
Manager, or BW Technologies Customer Service.
3. A computer (PC) with Windows 2000 or higher.
4. GasAlertMicroClip Soft Tools Software (version 10F or higher)
The latest version of Soft Tools can be downloaded from www.gasmonitors.com, or from
the latest Soft Tools CD-ROM supplied by BW Technologies by Honeywell. The fi le size is
approximately 20MB.
5. GasAlertMicroClip Gas Detector(s)
PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
To update the GasAlertMicroClip to the latest fi rmware, complete the following
steps:
1. Install the latest version of Soft Tools software on the computer (PC).
2. Download the latest fi rmware version onto the computer (PC).
3. Upload the latest fi rmware version from the computer (PC) to the detector.
SOFT TOOLS:
Step 1.1 - Download Soft Tools fi les from the BW website
a) Go to BW’s website at www.gasmonitors.com
b) Navigate to the GasAlertMicroClip page. From the Home page click:

c) Click on “ ” in the menu on the left
d) Click on the link “SoftToolsSetup-XXX.zip”
(XXX = current version number)
e) The File Download window appears.
f) Click and choose location.
g) Open the ZIP fi le and save the Soft Tools fi le contents on the
computer.
Step 1.2 - Install Soft Tools
a) Navigate to where the Soft Tools fi les are saved. Double-click on:
BWUserSoftToolsSetup-XXX.exe
b) The BW Technologies Soft Tools Setup window appears.
c) The Destination Folder automatically navigates to where the existing
Soft Tools program is saved.
d) Click (takes approximately 20 seconds to install)
e) Click to complete the installation.
