Before proceeding with repair, replacement, or adjustment of parts or assemblies of Option
H21, refer to the NOTE on page 1 of this Insert.
On page 8-104, under paragraph 8-18, Factory Selected Components (*), incorporate the
following:
The 8662A Option H21 includes a factory-selected A8A3 10 MHz Reference Oscillator to
insure guaranteed phase noise performance. If it is necessary to replace A8A3, use a
factory-tested replacement part (see Table 6-3) or an HP P/N 10811-60111 with low enough
noise to provide Option H21 performance when tested in the 8662A. Typically, the
10811 -6011110 MHz output must have SSB phase noise of approximately -162 dBc at a 1
kHz offset.
