Air extraction should be switched on before starting a build (including checks before printing) and switched
o after completely nishing it (once the printer reaches the Standby situation). If the extractor is not
switched o at the end of the job, it will be constantly removing air from the room, which has probably
been conditioned (heated or cooled), which represents unnecessary energy consumption.
Ensure that the cooling system calibration (before or after the job) is performed in the same conditions as
printing.
To avoid condensation inside exhaust ducts, thermal insulation must be provided. Condensation appears
mainly from agent components (water, solvents, and so on).
If you are installing multiple printers, the above conditions are applicable to each of them. An individual
duct system is required to extract air from each printer to the outside of the building. Individual fan and
valve sets towards a common collector system may be acceptable if pressure conditions can be kept
steady in the printer collectors, even with a variable number of printers running or idle. For that purpose, an
extraction system with controlled internal pressure can be helpful.
Position hoods over cooling tower outputs, making use of their referencing lids. In this way, the collecting
area will completely cover the grid area.
You are recommended to have an anemometer in the range 0.5–20 m/s, with an error of +-2%, to check
that correct aspiration conditions are obtained in each collector.
Flow values are considered at sea level. Increase about 10% for every 1000 m (3281 ft) in height.
When more than one printer is installed in the same room, check the following diagram of air inputs and
outputs to place the printers so that hot air output does not pass directly into an air inlet.

NOTE: An electrician is required for the setup and conguration of the building electrical system used to power
the printer, and also for printer installation. Make sure that your electrician is appropriately certied according to
local regulations and supplied with all the information regarding the electrical conguration.
The printer requires the following electrical components to be supplied and installed by the customer, according
to the Electrical Code requirements of the local jurisdiction of the country of installation.
