Prepare the hard drive.
5. Install the hard drive.
6. Close the bezel.
7. Resume normal server operations.
8. Determine the status of the hard drive from the hot-plug SAS hard drive LED combinations.
Removable media devices
Depending on the model, the ProLiant 100 Series server may support the installation of an optional tape
drive or other removable media devices.
Certain ProLiant 100 Series servers require the installation of rails. See the installation sheet for server-
specific installation instructions. This guide provides basic installation procedures for the following types of
media devices:
• Full-height or half-height media devices with rails ("Installing media devices with rails" on page 19)
• Full-height or half-height media devices with a media latch ("Installing media devices with a media
latch" on page 21)
