WARNING! To reduce potential safety issues, use only the user-replaceable battery provided with the
computer, a replacement battery provided by HP, or a compatible battery purchased from HP.
CAUTION: Removing a user-replaceable battery that is the sole power source for the computer can cause
loss of information. To prevent loss of information, save your work or shut down the computer through
Windows before removing the battery.
Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 32), and then remove the following
components:
a. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 58).
b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 37).
c. SSD (see Solid-state drive (M.2) on page 39).
d. Memory (see Memory on page 40).
e. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 43).
1. Disconnect the cable from the battery.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to disconnect the cable from the battery before removing any internal
components.
