IMPORTANT: Make special note of each screw and screw lock size and location during removal
and replacement
Before removing the power button board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 32).
5. Disconnect the cable from the battery.
6. Remove the hard drive (see Hard drive on page 37).
7. Remove the USB board (see USB board on page 47).
Remove the power button board:

Remove the Phillips screw (1), lift the power button board at an angle (2), and then remove it (3).
Reverse this procedure to install the power button board.
