Connect USB cable only when instructed to avoid software installation issues.
Use this guide to set up hardware and connect the HP All-in-One to your computer or network.
Lift the access door and remove tape on the left side of the device.
Identify all included hardware and software items like CDs, cartridges, cables, and guides.
Ensure the control panel faceplate is attached for the HP All-in-One to work.
Remove the protective film from the display for best viewing.
Follow the steps to load plain white paper into the device.
Connect the power cord to the device and a power outlet.
Press the On button; wait for the green light and print cartridge prompt.
Lift the access door until it stops; the print carriage moves to the right.
Pull the pink tab to remove tape from cartridges; avoid touching contacts.
Insert the tri-color cartridge into the left slot marked with the green label.
Insert the black cartridge into the right slot marked with the orange label.
Press OK for alignment prompts; check display for status and press OK.
Turn on your computer, log in, and close any open programs.
Select either USB connection directly to one computer or Ethernet network connection.
Insert the appropriate Windows or Macintosh CD and follow installation prompts.
Connect the USB cable from the computer to the HP All-in-One after software prompts.
Connect the Ethernet cable from the device to a hub, router, or switch.
Insert the correct CD, select network connection, and handle firewall prompts.
Install HP All-in-One software on additional computers using the CD.
Open access door, remove tape, power cycle the device to resolve carriage jam.
Re-insert Windows CD if USB connection prompt does not appear.
Click Cancel, unplug USB, and re-insert Windows CD for Add Hardware screen.
Verify faceplate, re-plug device, check connections and USB cable for setup failures.
Load 4x6 photo paper, place photo face down on glass, and press Start Copy Color.
