LAN Console
This section describes how to configure a notebook PC as a console via a LAN cable connection. This process
uses a terminal emulator software package set to emulate a VT100 terminal.
NOTE The rp7400 server must first be configured via an HP700 system console before accessing it
from a PC or UNIX system.
1. Connect a cable between your PC’s network adapter and the 10BaseT LAN Console port on the rear of the
rp7400 server.
2. Launch your terminal emulator software and set emulation to VT100.
3. Connect to the rp7400 server by entering the IP address for its Guardian Service Processor (GSP) and
press
<ENTER> or <RETURN>
