How to troubleshoot HP Integrity rx4640 that does not power on?
    • S
      Stephen EverettJul 31, 2025
If the HP Server does not power on, try the following: * Check the iLO MP. * Check all power connection cables. * Ensure 200-240 VAC power is available at the AC power receptacle. * Check the power supply fans. * Check the Power LED on the Front Control Panel. * Check all connections from the power supply to the power distribution module. * Verify that all cables and modules are correctly connected, especially the display panel connection. If the server starts to power-on and then power-off, a voltage rail of the power supply may be out of specification. The BMC monitors voltages and prevents power-on when power values are out of specification.

What to do if my HP Server does not boot?
    • P
      Pamela SmithAug 6, 2025
If the HP Server does not boot, examine the front panel LEDs and the QuickFind Diagnostic Panel for warning or fault indications. Display and examine the system event log (SEL) and forward progress log (FPL). Review the firmware revisions. Cycle the server power using the iLO MP command or by turning the server off for twenty seconds and then back on. Check that all DIMMs are seated properly and that the DIMM configuration on the I/O baseboard matches those approved. Verify the processors are of the same type and installed in the correct sockets. Check the boot order with the SCSI configuration utility and the switch settings on the I/O baseboard. If there are no obvious errors, reflash the BMC firmware. If the server still will not boot, it may be necessary to replace the base unit.

Why does my HP Server power shuts off and does not come back on?
    • R
      Ronald GriffinAug 12, 2025
If the HP Server shuts off and does not come back on, examine the front panel LEDs for warning or fault indications. This could be due to critical temperature fluctuations, voltage problems, power supply failure (if only one is installed), or multiple fan failures.

What to do if HP Server LED or diagnostic LEDs are not on?
    • J
      James JenkinsAug 17, 2025
If the HP Server LED or diagnostic LEDs are not on and no error messages appear, ensure all cables and the AC power cord are plugged into their proper receptacles and that the AC outlet is working. Make sure the server is turned on. Turn the server off, wait at least twenty seconds, then turn it back on. Ensure all boards are installed properly and the processors are in the correct slot. If the server stopped working after installing a new board, remove the board. If it still doesn't work, remove all installed boards and options. Add boards and options one at a time to determine the cause. If you added memory, ensure the DIMMs are seated properly.

Why does my HP Server has intermittent failures?
    • S
      Samantha MooreAug 25, 2025
If the HP Server has intermittent failures, examine the front panel LEDs and the QuickFind Diagnostic Panel for warning or fault indications. Display and examine the errdump logs, system event log (SEL), and forward progress log (FPL). Ensure the server fan assemblies are fully seated and that the server is plugged into a power source within specifications. Make sure the internal SCSI chain is terminated and that termination is not enabled on any of the drives. Check that the processors are installed in the correct sockets and that terminators are installed in all unused sockets. Reset the main memory DIMMs. If date and time or customer settings are being cleared, the I/O baseboard battery may need to be replaced.
