Effects of Altitude
Some old models of tape drives, including those supplied by
Hewlett-Packard, have vacuum column transport mechanisms that are
affected by atmospheric pressure. Adjustments to these mechanisms
may be required to compensate for the lower atmospheric pressure at
higher altitudes.
Maximum Altitude
Operational 3000 meters above sea level
Non-operational 4500 meters above sea level
