1 Installation requirements
Unless otherwise specified, the term P9000 in this guide refers to the following disk array:
• P9500 Disk Array
The GUI illustrations in this guide were created using a Windows computer with the Internet Explorer
browser. Actual windows may differ depending on the operating system and browser used. GUI
contents also vary with licensed program products, storage system models, and firmware versions.
This chapter describes Installation requirements.
System requirements
RAID Manager operations involve the RAID Manager software on the UNIX/PC server host, the
command device(s) on the RAID storage system(s), and the logical volumes on the RAID storage
system(s).
The system requirements for RAID Manager are:
• RAID Manager software product. The RAID Manager software is supplied on CD-ROM or
diskette. The RAID Manager software files take up 2.5 MB of space. The log files can take up
to 3 MB of space.
• Host platforms. RAID Manager is supported on the following host platforms. See Table 2 (page
7) – Table 10 (page 13) for detailed information on supported OS versions.
