see “Synchronizing with your computer” in the Accounts and sync
chapter.
Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
Two things to check for your computer’s Internet connection. One, we
recommend that you turn off your local network’s firewall. Two, if your
computer connects to the Internet via PPP (e.g. Dial UP, xDSL, or VPN),
Internet Pass-through will only support TCP protocol.
2. Connect the phone to the computer using the provided USB
cable.
3. On the Connect to PC screen, select Internet pass-through, and
then tap Done.
4. On the message window, tap OK.
Using your phone as a wireless router
Use your phone as a wireless hotspot for up to five Wi-Fi enabled
devices with the 3G Mobile Hotspot app from Verizon Wireless.
From the main Home screen, tap   > 3G Mobile Hotspot.
The first time you open 3G Mobile Hotspot, a brief introduction
describing the application is displayed. Tap OK.
Enter a Router name (SSID) to easily identify your phone’s Wi-Fi
network, or use the default name.
SECURITY WARNING: This device allows you to create a 3G Mobile Hotspot
wireless network, which may be accessible by unauthorized users. It is
strongly recommended that you use a password to help protect your
network.
