Step 5 Put the removed optical module into an ESD bag.
Step 6 Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
Step 7 Remove the protective cap from the optical module, and insert the optical module into the
port, as shown in Figure 5-104.
l Before inserting an optical module, ensure that its latches are completely closed.
l Insert the optical module to the enclosure until you hear a "click" sound or feel a slight
shake, which indicates that the optical module is inserted in place.
l If the optical module is not inserted in place, it will fall out or will cause a link fault.

Step 8 Insert the optical fibers into the optical module.
Do not look into the optical port without eye protection. The laser beam on the optical
interface board or from the fiber may cause injuries to eyes.
