Step 4 In the operation area, click the Device Figure tab.
Step 5 Click the SAS host port icon or right-click the SAS host port icon. On the displayed shortcut
menu, choose Properties, and then the SAS Host Port Properties dialog box is displayed.
Step 6 The parameters of viewing the information about an SAS host port are described, as shown in
Table 4-8.

Parameter Description
Port ID The parameter indicates the SAS host port number.
Health Status The parameter indicates the status of the functions and running specifications
of the SAS host port.
l Normal: It indicates that the functions of the SAS port and all the
parameters are set correctly.
l Unknown: It indicates that the system cannot report the health status of
the SAS host port.
Running
Status
The parameter indicates the running status of the FC host port. The status can
be Online or Offline.

Exception Handling
l If the running status of the SAS host port is Offline, ensure that the mini SAS cable is
normally inserted.
l If the health status of the SAS host port is Unknown, insert the mini SAS cable and check
the status again.
l If a new alarm related to the SAS host port is displayed on the alarm interface, click the
alarm and remove the fault according to the troubleshooting suggestions under the alarm.
If the fault persists, contact technical support engineers.
4.9 Browsing Current Alarms
This section describes how to browse current alarms through the ISM.

Precaution
By creating the Trap IP on the alarm management module of the ISM, the S2600 storage system
can send the Trap alarms to the network management system. These alarms can be permanently
stored even at the time of power failure.
