Precautions for Installing Fibers
Installing Fibers
Be careful not to damage fiber connectors when you install fibers.
After fibers are installed, cover unused optical ports with dustproof caps (Figure 3) and unused fibers with
fiber caps (Fiber 4).
Always wear protective glasses or goggles when you look directly at an optical port (Figure 1).
Coil fibers from other sites on the ODF and connect them to the local cabinet. Do not coil the fibers from other equipment rooms
in the local cabinet.
Do not load too many fibers into one open corrugated pipe. If fibers 2 mm in diameter are used, load a
maximum of 60 fibers into an open corrugated pipe 32 mm in diameter (Figure 5). About 10 cm of the
pipe should be secured inside the cabinet (Figure 6).

When two or more cabinets stand side by side and their side panels cannot be removed, place fiber connectors into a plastic bag,
and pass the plastic bag into the cabinet through a cable hole at the top of the cabinet (Figure 2).
