3 Software Maintenance Guide
3.1 Root Detection Instructions
3.1.1 Forcibly Entering Fastboot Mode
1. Connect the phone to a computer using a USB cable. Power on the phone, press and hold the power
and volume down buttons for 10s, and wait for the phone to power off.
Expected symptom: The black screen is displayed.
2. Keep pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons, and then release the buttons when the
phone enters the fastboot screen.
Expected symptom: The fastboot page is displayed. The fastboot port is displayed in the Device Manager
on the computer.
3.1.2 Entering Forcible Loading Mode (Forcible Update Mode)
1. When the phone is powered on, press and hold the power button for 10s until the phone is powered
off.
Expected symptom: The black screen is displayed.
2. Once the phone is powered off, press the power, volume up, and volume down buttons. Connect the
phone to a computer using a USB cable.
Expected symptom: The USB update screen is displayed. The ADB port and PCUI port are displayed in the
Device Manager on the computer.
3.1.3 Detection in Fastboot Mode
1. Follow the instructions in section 3.1.1 "Forcibly Entering Fastboot Mode" to enable the phone to
enter the fastboot mode. Then, connect the phone to a computer using a USB cable.
2. Run the NFF detection tool compartner.exe. The automatic detection starts. If the detection result is
locked, the phone has not been rooted. If the detection result is unlocked, the phone has been rooted.
