Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring traffic distribution based on the Eth-Trunk, complete the following tasks:
l Powering on the device normally
l Creating an Eth-Trunk
l Adding member interfaces to the Eth-Trunk
Data Preparation
To configure traffic distribution based on the Eth-Trunk, you need the following data.

4.3.2 Setting the Load Balancing Mode of an Eth-Trunk
Context
Because of high link bandwidth on the backbone network, a single host cannot analyze or process
a large amount of traffic. The traffic distribution device needs to be configured with an Eth-
Trunk to perform load balancing and distribute the traffic to multiple hosts to suit the processing
capabilities of the hosts. In addition to analyzing the unidirectional traffic of the two
communication parties, the traffic distribution device needs to analyze bidirectional traffic of
the two communication parties so that the traffic information can be fully analyzed. On the
Switch, you can configure load balancing based on traffic distribution and monitoring so that
the traffic from the same source reaches the same destination.
Do as follows on the Switch where the load balancing mode of an Eth-Trunk needs to be set.
Procedure
l Setting the load balancing mode for an Eth-Trunk
1. Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
2. Run:
interface eth-trunk trunk-id
The Eth-Trunk interface view is displayed.
3. Run:
load-balance { dst-ip | dst-mac | src-ip | src-mac | src-dst-ip | src-dst-
mac | enhanced profile profile-name
The load balancing mode is set for the Eth-Trunk.
By default, the load balancing mode of an Eth-Trunk is src-dst-ip.
