5.2.2 Preventive Maintenance
To ensure a long battery lifespan, perform the following maintenance tasks for batteries
periodically:
Charge and discharge batteries once every four to six months.
In high-temperature areas, charge and discharge batteries once every two months.
The charge time should be four hours at least.
Do not overdischarge batteries. After batteries stop discharging, fully charge them within
24 fours.
After batteries have been used for six months, check that battery cables are properly
connected.
To avoid battery discharging for too much time after the AC input failure, switch off the
battery circuit breaker while shutting down the UPS.
5.2.3 Safety Precautions for Battery Replacement
Observe the following precautions when replacing a battery:
Consult professional engineers for replacing batteries.
Use storage batteries of the same capacity and model and from the same manufacturer.
Replaced batteries should be recycled by the UPS supplier.
5.3 Fan Maintenance
Check periodically that fans work properly and air vents are not blocked. If a fan stops
running, maintain or replace it in a timely manner.
