Method 2: Forcible upgrade
Step 1 Prepare a microSD card that has at least 2 GB storage (SanDisk and Kingstone microSD cards
are recommended).
Step 2 (Optional) Format the microSD card.
Step 3 Download the upgrade package by visiting the following website and choosing Appropriate
model > Support > Downloads > Download Now:
http://consumer.huawei.com/en/mobile-phones/index.htm
Step 4 Decompress the downloaded upgrade package.
Step 5 Copy the dload folder to the root directory of the microSD card.
Step 6 Ensure that the dload folder contains the UPDATE.APP file.
Step 7 Power off the phone and insert the microSD card into the phone. Press the volume up key,
volume down key, and power key simultaneously to enter upgrade mode. After the upgrade is
complete, the phone restarts automatically.
