APPENDIX A SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE
You must NOT stare at the LED light source located on the backside of the
magnifier.
Power Off your explorē 12 before cleaning it.
Use only the cables provided with your explorē 12.
Battery
The explorē 12 has an internal rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. A qualified
HumanWare technician must replace the battery.
Do not use or leave the unit near a heat source or fire. Do not store at
high temperatures.
Only use USB-compliant power supplies to charge the battery.
Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
Keep away from water or high humidity environments. Do not submerge
in any liquid or allow the device to get wet.
Do not strike or throw the unit.
Do not pierce or strike the unit with sharp or blunt objects.
If the battery leaks and its liquid gets into the eyes, do not rub the eyes.
Instead, rinse eyes with clean running water and seek immediate
medical attention to prevent injury.
If the battery leaks and its liquid comes into contact with skin,
immediately rinse the area with clean running water to prevent injury.
Cleaning the LCD screen
Be sure the device is turned off and unplugged.
Use only microfiber cloth (included) to clean the LCD screen. Be sure to wipe
the LCD screen gently.
