5. Remove the hydraulic hoses from the front
transmission. Put on protective plugs. Although the
front axle is drained, a small quantity of oil can leak
out.
6. Remove the hydraulic pipe from the front
transmission. Put on protective plugs.
7. Remove the parking brake cable. Refer to
To
replace the parking brake cable on page 25
.
8. Loosen the screws that hold the bearing units and
remove the bearing units.
9. Remove the screws that hold the front axle and
lower the front axle.
9.6.6 To assemble the front transmission
1. Attach the screws that hold the front transmission
and the bearings loosely.
2. Move the front transmission and the bearings to the
correct position. Make sure that the grease nipple is
pointing rearward when the left bearing is attached.
3. Tighten the screws in the front transmission.
4. Tighten the wheel bearings. Make sure that the
axles rotate freely.
5. Tighten the stop screws for the right side bearing.
