10 Troubleshooting
10.1 To measure voltage
Use a multimeter in voltage mode.
1. Hold the red measuring probe against the point
where you measure the voltage. Hold the black
measuring probe against a grounding point or the
negative battery terminal.
2. Read the voltage on the multimeter display.
10.2 To measure resistance
Use a multimeter in resistance mode.
1. Hold the measuring probes at the points where you
measure the resistance.
2. Read the resistance on the multimeter display.
On connection, the value must be low (<1 Ohm). On
broken connection, the value must be high (>500 Ohm).
10.3 To do a check of cables and
connectors
Make sure that the cables are not broken.
Make sure that the cable sheaths are not worn.
Make sure that the cable connection in terminals are
not broken.
Make sure that the terminals are clean.

battery.
5 Make sure that the screw terminals are tightly attached to the bat-
tery terminals.
Tighten the
screw termi-
nals on the
battery ter-

wiring.
8 Do a check of the black cable between the starter relay and the
negative terminal on the battery (-).
Repair the
wire or re-
place the
wiring.
9 Measure the voltage of the thin brown cable to the starter relay
when the key switch is turned to START. There must be the same
voltage in the cable as in the battery.
Replace the
ignition
switch.
