This document outlines the programming and operational instructions for the HT01 & KS01 Model lock, covering various features from initial setup to advanced security options.

Function Description

The HT01 & KS01 Model is a smart deadbolt lock designed for residential use, offering multiple methods for locking and unlocking, including keypad entry, mechanical key, and an auto-lock feature. It supports a master code for administrative control and multiple user codes for daily access. The lock incorporates security features like anti-peep password protection and a vacation mode to enhance safety when the user is away.

Important Technical Specifications

• Code Length: Master codes and user codes can be 4-10 digits long.
• Battery Type: Requires 4 fresh AA standard alkaline batteries. Rechargeable or extended-life batteries are not recommended.
• Auto-Lock Time Delay: Adjustable from 10 to 99 seconds. Default is 30 seconds.
• Anti-Peep Password: Allows for adding up to 20 digits (including the correct user code) to obscure the actual code.

Usage Features

• Installation Notes:
  • The thumb turn-piece must be vertical, and the deadbolt latch in the unlocked position during installation.
  • Ensure the deadbolt latch is properly positioned and screws are not over-tightened.
  • The bolt hole on the door frame should be at least 1 inch deep for full bolt extension.
  • Verify proper door closure to prevent the deadbolt from hitting the strike or frame.
  • Ensure proper cable connection and correct battery installation.
• Resetting to Factory Settings:
  • This process teaches the lock the door's orientation.
  • The door must be OPEN, the thumb turn-piece vertical, and the deadbolt latch unlocked.
  • Insert 3 batteries, hold the reset button with a pin, insert the 4th battery, and continue holding for about 10 seconds until a "beep" sound and latch bolt extension.
  • Test functionality with the default master code (12345678) and the mechanical key.
• Changing the Master Code:
  • After resetting the lock, press the HuTools button twice.
  • Enter the default master code (12345678).
  • Press the HuTools button once (green light, long beep).
  • Press "1" (green light flash, long beep).
  • Enter the desired 4-10 digit master code, then press the HuTools button (green light flash, long beep).
  • Repeat the new master code and press the HuTools button to confirm.
  • Each lock supports only one master code.
• Adding User Codes:
  • Ensure the master code has been changed.
  • Press the HuTools button twice.
  • Enter the current master code.
  • Press the HuTools button once (green light, long beep).
  • Press "2" (green light flash, long beep).
  • Enter the desired 4-10 digit user code, then press the HuTools button (green light flash, long beep).
  • Repeat the new user code and press the HuTools button to confirm.
• Deleting User Codes:
  • Press the HuTools button twice.
  • Enter the current master code.
  • Press the HuTools button once (green light, long beep).
  • Press "3" (green light flash, long beep).
  • Enter the UNWANTED user code, then press the HuTools button (green light flash, long beep).
• Muting the Button/Activating Keypad Sound:
  • To mute: Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "4", press "2", then press HuTools.
  • To activate sound: Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "4", press "1", then press HuTools.
  • Silent mode only mutes keypad presses; low battery and system alerts will still sound.
• Enabling/Closing Auto Lock Feature:
  • To enable: Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "5", press "1", then press HuTools. The deadbolt will auto-lock in 30 seconds (default).
  • To close: Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "5", press "2", then press HuTools. Manual locking (press any button for 3 seconds or use mechanical key) will be required.
• Changing Auto Lock Time Delay:
  • Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "8".
  • Enter the desired time (10-99 seconds), then press HuTools.
• Enabling Vacation Mode:
  • Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "6", then press HuTools.
  • This mode restricts all user codes until the master code is entered. An alarm will sound if the lock is unlocked by the thumb turn from inside.
• Adding One-Time Pin Code:
  • Press HuTools twice, enter master code, press HuTools, press "7".
  • Enter the desired 4-10 digit one-time user code, then press HuTools.
  • Repeat the code and press HuTools to confirm.
  • This code becomes invalid after one use.
• Anti-Peep Password Feature:
  • Allows users to add random numbers before or after their correct user code (or both) to prevent others from guessing the code by observing finger movements or smudges.
  • The total input (random numbers + correct code) must not exceed 20 digits.
  • Example: For code 930871, inputs like 42583930871 or 930871572893 are valid.
• Locking the Door:
  • From outside: Press any keypad button for 3 seconds, or rely on the auto-lock feature (if enabled).
  • From inside: Rotate the turn knob to the horizontal (lock) position, or rely on the auto-lock feature (if enabled).
• Unlocking the Door:
  • From outside: Input master code + HuTools, or input user code + HuTools.
  • From inside: Rotate the turn knob to the vertical (unlock) position.

Maintenance Features

• Battery Replacement: Use 4 fresh AA standard alkaline batteries. Avoid rechargeable or extended-life batteries.
• System Alerts: The lock will provide low battery and system alerts, even when silent mode is enabled.
