D) Display is inaccurate:-
1. Check the empty distance at Pr.4.
2. Check the vessel dimensions and any volume conversion factor used at Pr.43.
3. Temperature compensation may be required.
4. The presence of vapours will affect accuracy. If they are constant over the
range, the speed of sound can be adjusted at Pr.69.
5. Check that the echo processing routine at Pr.68 is correct for the application.
TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION ERRORS
A) No temperature indicated on display:-
1. Check that Pr.37=2 for every point using compensation.
2. Check the RS485 and t/comp cable links between Controller and Multiplexor;
refer to Pages 5 & 6.
3. Check the wiring to the temperature sensor or to the temperature compensated
transducer (RXT Series) as appropriate.
4. Check the resistance of the sensor when disconnected against its value
displayed at Pr.39 when connected, typically 9.5K at 20C. If using RXT
transducer check resistance across black core and screen when disconnected.
B) Temperature reading is inaccurate:-
1. Check the sensor position. It should not be in direct sunlight nor where it may
be affected by convection currents.
Note that the sensor compensates for temperature variations, it is not expected
to give an accurate measurement of actual temperature.
