Fortheoperationlimitof16500RPM thefollowingtable(Tab.2)hasbeenprepared.
SUGGESTION:
§ During the track tests we recommend use of a tachometer recording the max
obtainedengineRPM.
§ Use sparkplug caps with a resistance of 5KΩ to avoid eventual interferences
betweentheengineignitionandthetachometerand/ortelemetry.
Thefollowingexampleshouldclarifytheprocedurefortheoptimizationofthesprocket.
Assume to use the engine with Z=10 teeth engine sprocket and that during the
preliminarytracktestsaZ=72teethaxlesprockethasbeenused.
§ Fromtable1withZ=10as enginesprocketandZ=72ontheaxle sprocket,aratio of
7.20isfound.
§ Make a few laps on the track and, let us assume that you read 14.000 max engine
RPM.
§ Fromthetable2toachieveamaxRPMof16500RPM(operatinglimitfortheLeopard
engine)asprocketratio from8.37 and 8.60shouldbeused(havingused,duringthe
tests,asprocketratioof7.2andhavingachieved14.000RPMmax.).
§ Fromtable.1,withthesevalues, a sprocketratio of10:84 /10:86should be used or,
havingaZ=11ontheenginesprocket,aratio11:92shouldbeused.
