Warning
In areas of high snowfall, users must be advised to check side wall vent and air
intake terminations on a regular basis to ensure blockage does not occur.
Where an exhaust passes through a sidewall too close to a soffit, the venting must
extend past the soffit by transitioning to vertical as shown in Figure 27.

This illustrates the scenario where indoor air is used for combustion. Where combustion
air is drawn from outdoors, combustion venting should also transition to vertical and
terminations should observe the limitations set out in Fig. 5.
