Signal Cable Considerations
When the IBM 3270 Connection adapter is attached to a host
system, consider the following:

Cable runs (indoor
and outdoor)
Types
of signal cables and specifications (coaxial and
twisted-pair)
Signal cable and power line separation
Cable labeling
and testing.
• Cable accessories.
Outdoor runs require additional installation guidelines, including
lightning protection. For more information, refer to the list of
