came with your application software for instructions on how to
install and
use
the adapter. Keep the

Quick Reference with the documentation supplied with your com-
puter for future reference.
For

on
available software for the IBM
3270
Con-
nection adapter,

your local IBM representative
or
authorized
Personal System/2 dealer.
Note:
If
you receive communication errors, ensure that your
control unit and control unit configuration are compatible
with your Personal System/2 software.
For
example: Personal System/2 Entry Level Emulator
software requires control unit terminal (CUT) mode
of
operation. (CUT mode is the default mode
of
operation
for IBM control units.)
Other software packages may require distributed function
terminal (DPT) mode
of
operation.
DPT
mode may
necessitate reconfiguration
of
your control unit. (Not all
IBM control units support
DPT
mode
of
operation.)
