The possible status values for the SAS Fabric Path Data View and the SAS Fabric Path Graphical View are
defined in the following table.
Table 11. Possible status values
Status Description
Operational No problem detected
Degraded The SAS node is degraded
Failed The SAS node is failed
Suspect
1
The SAS node is suspect of contributing to a failure
Missing
1
The SAS node is no longer detected by controller
Not valid The SAS node is incorrectly connected
Unknown Unknown or unexpected status
1
This status is an indication of a possible problem; however, the controller is not always able to
determine the status of a node. The node can have this status even when the status or node is not
displayed.
Example: Using SAS fabric path information
This data becomes helpful in determining the cause of configuration or SAS fabric problems.
The following example assumes a cascaded disk enclosure with a broken connection on one path between
the cascaded enclosures.
