the pump operating at too low voltage and thus overloading the motor, which can
lead to failure.
If the pump is originally equipped with a short cable, the cable can be extended de-
pending on the user’s needs. Sealed cable connections should be made by a person
with appropriate knowledge and experience. The user should have this tted by a well
technician, or they can do it at the retail point where they bought the pump. Incorrectly
connected and insulated cables can lead to the “tripping” of residual current devices,
ooding of the motor or electrocution of the user. Cable extensions on pump types
equipped with a starter box may require it to be removed. Before dismantling, please
check how the wires are connected in the box and connect the wires of the extended
cable identically. Incorrect connection can lead to motor failure, pump failure, underper-
formance of the pump. We recommend that the extension of the supply cable is carried
out by a guarantor or a well technician.
Some pump types have a box supplied separately.
A start-up capacitor, overcurrent protection and on/
o switch are built into the box. Shown opposite is
a diagram of the connection of the pump’s power
cable conductors at the junction strip in the box. The
conductors of the pump supply cable are marked
with small tags indicating the conductor number.
Identify the conductors by hangers or colour and
connect them according to the diagram.
OOPERATION OF THE PUMP WITH THE POWER GENERATOR
The power rating of the power generator, due to the high starting current, should be
3 to 5 times the power rating of the motor being supplied.
When starting the pump observe the rule that the pump may only be connected to
an already running power generator. Starting the power generator with the pump
connected may result in the pump motor burn out. In such case, repair can be carried
out only against payment.
Switching o the pump should be done in the following order. First, the pump must
be disconnected from the power generator and then the power generator can be swi-
tched o. Switching o the power generator with the pump connected may result in
the pump motor burn out. In such case, repair can be carried out only against payment.
