Control Panel Maintenance:
Preventive maintenance of the control panel should take place once a year. When the preventive maintenance is
performed, the check list below can be used.
1.
Conduct a visual inspection of the control panel.
2.
Switch of the power to the control panel BEFORE maintenance is started.
3.
Clean the control panel on the inside and outside. Be extra careful with insulated parts, vent openings & filters.
4.
Inspect the control panels electrical joints and connections for discoloration due to increased temperature as a
result of increased contact resistance (bad connection).
Clean discolorated contact surfaces and restore connections. Remember torque level.
5.
Tighten up electrical joints and connections with correct torque.
6.
Replace parts worn out parts on basis of operating hours or switching statistics.
7.
Exercise contactors, circuit breakers and disconnectors.
8.
Perform insulation test (high voltage & megger test). REMEMBER cut off voltage supply and earth
connections for electronic and control circuits.
9.
Test alarms and control functions.
10.
Tighten up mechanical joints.
11.
Test emergency stop and safety functions. This test should be performed more often than once a year.
12.
Inspect gaskets, particularly at doors and replace if necesarry
13.
Repair paintwork damage.
14.
Generally all components in the control panel must be maintaned in accordance with the manufacturers
maintenance guidelines.
15.
Provide the control panel with the date of the performance of the preventive maintenance.
If the control panel/machine has been exposed to extreme operating conditions, fx. Fire, water damage, lightning stroke
or high short circuit currents, the exposed/defective parts must be replaced and the above procedure must be performed.
