5.4.3 i-PORT 4
Readers from the i-PORT 4 series are part of the newest generation of
IDENTEC SOLUTIONS™ Intelligent Long Range
®
(ILR
®
) RFID readers. The
i-PORT 4 collects, filters and edits data from transponders and sends them
to a Host System via GPRS or Ethernet.
Systems equipped with ILR tags and readers provide identification and
real-time data collection with maximum accuracy and minimal effort in
wireless applications such as:
identification
tracking, and
localization
of assets and personnel.
Using advanced radio frequency technology, receive ranges of up to 100 meters (300 ft) with or i-B
tags can be achieved. The i-PORT 4 readers are available with an internal patch antenna or up to two
external antenna connectors. The optional integrated GPRS module has the benefit of bridging the
long distances between the data processing location and where the data is captured.
The real-time field strength measurement feature integrated in all readers allows for localization of
tags. The software in the i-PORT 4 contains a variety of features such as:
Communication with all i-B2L ILR tags
Communication to the Host System via Ethernet and GPRS
Connection of up to four additional readers from the i-PORT M series
Data pre-processing
Configuration and parameterization via Web Interface
The internal real-time clock provides accurate time stamps for data captured from the tags. The
i-PORT 4, combined with other ILR system components from IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, offers a leading-
edge wireless, automated data collection tool that is easily integrated into a wide variety of existing
applications.
The i-PORT 4 is compatible with the i-B2 tag series.
