9 Maintenance and servicing
9.1 Inspection and maintenance
The filter engine has to be cleaned and maintained in certain intervals.
The fixation of these intervals should be done after regularly checking the condition of the
filter insertions in the first weeks of operation.
The last quarter of the collector electrodes should be dry and clean.
As soon as pollution reaches this area all insertions (Pre-filter, ionisation device, collector,
post-filter) have to be cleaned.
Watch that all tungsten wires and all insulation at the engine and at the insertions have to be
cleaned as well.
The cleaning of the metal pre-filter and the ionisation device can be done with a high
pressure cleaner if performed very cautiously. These parts can also be cleaned in a cleaning
bath outside of the engines case.
In the latter case the cleansing agents temperature must neither exceed 80C nor attack
aluminium or synthetics.
9.2 Cleaning of the filter engine
9.2.1 Cleansing agents
When using aggressive cleansing agents refer to the manufacturers information. Wear
protective goggles and gloves etc. if necessary!
Cleansing agents have to be disposed properly and in an eco-
friendly way.
Danger of injury inside the filter engine, especially at the insertions
and the ionisation device (Danger of incisions!). Always wear
protective gloves at works of service!
