Why is there no sound when playing iPhone/iPod on iHome iP15 Docking Station?

  First, remove your iPhone/iPod from the connector and check for any obstructions on the connectors in the dock and on your iPhone/iPod. Then, reseat it in the dock. Ensure your iPhone/iPod is playing music. Also, decrease the unit volume. Note that if the iPhone/iPod is locked up, please make sure your iPhone/iPod is working properly before docking it to the unit. Please refer to your manual for details.

  If the sound from your iHome Docking Station is distorted, first lower the volume. If that doesn't solve the problem, the audio file itself might be of poor quality; try playing a file from a trusted source like iTunes. If you're using an iPod Shuffle or an older iPod, reduce the device's output volume and disable bass boost in the iPod's settings.
