• Hold the le guide bar) and le according to the angles
marked on horizontally (at right angle to side of the
le holder. Rest the le holder on the top plate and
depth gauge.
• Always le from the inside to the outside of the cutter.
• The le only sharpens on the forward stroke – lift the
le o the cutter on the backstroke.
• Avoid touching the tie straps and drive links with the
le.
• Rotate the le at regular intervals while ling to avoid
one-sided wear.
• Use a piece of hardwood to remove burrs from cut-
ting edge.
All cutters must be the same length. If the cutters are not
the same length, they will have dierent heights. This
makes the chain run roughly and increases the risk of
breakage of the chain.

Installation and adjustment
Installing the rod (if supplied separately)
- Insert the rod (1) into the socket (2) so the hole (3)
lines up with the bolt (4).
- Tighten the two bolts (4) and (5). Once they are tight-
ened, the head of the bolt (4) should be ush.
Operation
Important: You should also carefully read through the
operating instructions for the brush cutter on which the
hedge cutter attachment is to be used.
Before commencing work, check that:
- all screws and bolts on the machine and on the blades
have been tightened
- the blades are sharp and undamaged
