Second Test Space Options
The second test space option lets you test in the space above the moving crosshead, as
shown in Figure 2-3 on page 2-14.
In this configuration, the top place is replaced with a fixed crosshead. Hoes are drilled in the
fixed crosshead to mount the load cell or grip adapter. The specimen is gripped between the
fixed crosshead and the top of the moving crosshead.
Figure 2-4 on page 2-15 shows the dimensions for the second test space. Refer to Table 2-
7 on page 2-15 and Table 2-8 on page 2-15 to match the letter designations.
