Why is the copper ion level insufficient in my Intex Water Filtration Systems?
    • A
      Alyssa AllenAug 10, 2025
An insufficient copper ion level in your Intex Water Filtration System can occur for several reasons. The operating hours may be insufficient, so increase the operating time per day. If the PH is too high, use a PH decrease chemical to adjust it. An increased bather load can also lower copper ion levels, so increase the operating time per day. The copper electrode might be clogged or dirty, requiring inspection and cleaning.

How to remove stains from pool when using Intex Water Filtration Systems?
    • S
      Susan BlackAug 15, 2025
If your pool is stained while using an Intex Water Filtration System, it could be due to a high copper ion concentration. Drain about 20% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the copper ion concentration below 0.2ppm. Also, you can add aluminum sulfate (around 2g per 1000 liters of water) or aluminum potassium sulfate (around 3g per 1000 liters of water) to the pool. Alternatively, use a lemon-based cleaning product, preferably containing citric acid, but avoid scrubbing with aggressive cleaning products to prevent etching the surface.

Why are there white flakes in the water with Intex Water Filtration Systems?
    • G
      Gabriel PowellAug 19, 2025
White flakes in the water of your Intex Water Filtration System are usually due to excessive calcium hardness. Drain about 20 to 25% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the calcium hardness. Also, inspect the electrolytic cell for scale buildup and clean it if necessary.

How to prevent green hair when using Intex Water Filtration Systems?
    • M
      Michael HannaAug 25, 2025
Green hair when using Intex Water Filtration Systems is often caused by a high copper ion concentration. Drain about 20% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the copper ion concentration below 0.2ppm. Additionally, you can add aluminum sulfate (2g per 1000 liters of water) or aluminum potassium sulfate (3g per 1000 liters of water) to the pool. You could also use ‘Ultra-Swim’ shampoo, or shampoo containing chelating agents.

How to fix insufficient chlorine in Intex Water Filtration Systems?
    • A
      Andrew GonzalezNov 1, 2025
If you have insufficient chlorine in your Intex Water Filtration System, several factors could be the cause. It might be due to insufficient operating hours of the saltwater system, so increase the daily operating time. The salt level in the pool water may be too low (less than 2000ppm); check and adjust as needed. Intense sunlight can cause chlorine loss, so use a pool cover when the pool is not in use or when the unit is operating. An increased bather load can also deplete chlorine, so increase the daily operating time. The electrolytic cell might be clogged or dirty, requiring removal and cleaning. High UV level exposure may cause chlorine loss, so cover the pool with a pool cover for 2 days with the device running and then test the water using the test strips. If the pool is clean and ...

What to do if LED panel code flashes and alarm is on in Intex Water Filtration Systems?
    • T
      Todd MckenzieNov 5, 2025
If the LED panel code is flashing and the alarm is on for your Intex Water Filtration System, check the following: Ensure the filter pump is attached and operating. Make sure plunger valves are open if your unit has them. Clear the filter cartridge and cell of debris and dirt. Release any trapped air in the circulation line. Verify the correct inlet and outlet hose direction, reversing them if necessary. Clean the flow sensor, paying special attention to the hinge. Ensure the flow sensor cord is firmly plugged into the receptacle. Reset both timers on the filter pump and saltwater system. Also, inspect the electrolytic cell for dirt or scale on the titanium plates and clean if needed. Add salt if the salt level is low or there is no salt. Ensure the electrolytic cell cord is firmly plugged...
