      If the Intex Water Pump filter motor fails to start, ensure the line cord is plugged into a 3-wire outlet protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, or RCD. If the GFCI/RCD circuit breaker has tripped, reset it. If it trips repeatedly, there may be an electrical system defect; turn off the circuit breaker and consult an electrician. Also, the motor may be too hot; allow it to cool down before restarting.

      If the Intex Water Pump filter doesn't pump water or the flow is very slow, first release any trapped air as described in the operating instructions. Then, clear any obstructions in the intake hose by discharging it inside the pool wall. Tighten hose clamps and check the hoses for damage, and ensure the pool water level is adequate. Backwash the filter if the pool is excessively dirty. If the sand media is clogged with dirt, remove about 1 inch of sand if necessary. Ensure the nozzle is at the upper position of the pool inlet and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. Remove any pool vacuuming devices attached to the system line. Also, ensure the inlet threaded air connector is connected to the pool inlet upper hole.

      If your Intex Water Pump filter isn’t cleaning the pool, adjust the chlorine and pH levels as recommended by your local swimming pool supply store. Load the tank with filter sand according to the sand loading instructions. Ensure the 4-way valve is set to the “FILTER” position. If the pool is excessively dirty, operate the filter for longer periods. Also, clean the strainer screen at the inlet to ensure it is not restricting water flow.

      If the Intex Water Pump hose is leaking, first try tightening or reinstalling the hose clamps. If that doesn’t work, check if the hose o-ring dislodged when connecting the hose, and if so, put the o-ring back into the groove. If the hose is broken, replace it with a new one.

      If you notice sand flowing back into the pool from your Intex Water Pump, ensure that you are using only No. 20 silica sand with a particle size range of 0.45 to 0.85 mm (0.018 to 0.033 inches) and a Uniformity Coefficient less than 1.75. If the sand bed is calcified, change the sand.

      If the Intex Water Pump 4-way valve or cover is leaking, remove the 4-way valve cover and ensure the o-ring is in place. Clean the sand tank o-ring with garden hose water if it's dirty. Also, ensure the flange clamp is securely tightened.

      If you have a small leak from the air jet valve when the Intex Water Pump is on, remove all accessories (such as solar mat, auto pool cleaner, LED light) from the water circulation line and place the air jet valve cap over the air jet valve. Do not cover the air jet valve with the valve cap under normal situations or when the pump is operating.

    How to fix a leaking air jet valve on an Intex SF40220?

      If the Intex Water Pump air jet valve is leaking, tighten the air jet valve and make sure it’s facing up. If that doesn't work, turn the pump ON and run for a few seconds, then turn OFF, repeat 3 times. If the internal seal is dirty, remove the air jet valve, flush dirt out with water, and replace the valve back.
