Usage Features:
- Setup: Requires one Phillips screwdriver. A team of 2 or more people is recommended for setup. The system must be installed on a solid, level, and vibration-free base, protected from weather, moisture, flooding, and freezing temperatures. Adequate access, space, and lighting for routine maintenance are necessary. The pump motor requires free circulation of air for cooling; it should not be installed in a damp or non-ventilated location.
- Motor Pre-filtering Assembly: Involves connecting the pre-filter housing to the motor water inlet, ensuring proper alignment.
- Sand Tank Installation: The tank is placed on a support base, and the motor pre-filtering assembly unit is connected to the tank support base. The pre-filter housing water inlet hose connection should face towards the pool. In some countries, securing the product to the ground or a base in a permanent upright position may be required; mounting holes are provided for this purpose.
- Sand Loading: Use No. 20 silica sand or glass sand with specified particle size. The sand shield is placed over the center pipe, and sand is poured slowly. The tank is filled approximately halfway, then water is added to provide a cushioning effect before adding the remaining sand. Sand should be filled between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks on the center pipe and evenly spread.
- 6-Way Valve Installation: The 6-way valve is lowered over the tank, ensuring the bypass pipe fits securely into the center pipe hub. The outlet connection (from filter to pool) should face the pool, and the inlet connection (from motor to valve) should align with the motor outlet. L-shape o-rings are placed, and the sand filter interconnecting hose is connected. The clamp is installed around the tank and 6-way valve flanges and tightened.
- Hose Connection: For Intex pools, hoses are connected between the pre-filter inlet and the lower plunger valve, and between the 6-way valve water outlet and the upper plunger valve. The third hose connection port (drain/waste outlet) on the 6-way valve must be directed to a proper draining receptacle. For non-Intex pools, hoses are connected to the pool inlet/outlet with large hose clamps.
- RCD Operating Instructions: Plug the RCD into a power outlet, press RESET (indicator should be "ON"), then press TEST (indicator should be "OFF"). Press RESET again for use. Do not use if the test fails.
- Initial Startup and Operation: Ensure all hoses are connected and tightened, correct sand quantity is loaded, and the system is connected to a grounding type receptacle protected by a GFCI/RCD. Turn both plunger valve handles fully counter-clockwise to open valves and allow water flow. Air trapped inside will escape from air release valves; tighten valves once water flows out. Ensure the drain/waste outlet is clear. With the pump off, depress the 6-way valve and turn it to "BACKWASH" position. Switch on the pump and backwash until clear water is observed. Then, switch off the pump, change to "RINSE" position, run for about one minute, switch off, change to "FILTER" position, and switch on for normal filtering. Run the pump until desired pool water clearance is obtained, no more than 12 hours per day. Monitor the pressure gauge reading; backwash when the reading is in the yellow zone.
- 6-Way Valve Positions and Functions:
- FILTER: Normal filtration and vacuuming (from pump through filter media to pool).
- BACKWASH: Reverses water flow to clean filter media (from pump through filter media to valve waste/drain outlet).
- RINSE: Initial startup cleaning of sand and leveling sand bed after backwashing (from pump through filter media to valve waste/drain outlet).
- WASTE: Vacuuming directly to waste, lowering pool level, or draining the pool (from pump to valve waste/drain outlet bypassing filter media).
- RECIRCULATE: Circulating water back to pool without going through filter media (from pump through valve to pool bypassing filter media).
- CLOSED: Shuts off all flow to filter and pool (do not use this setting with pump running).
- Operating under TIMER mode: Set the timer dial to desired operating hours, press the switch to "I" position. The pump will filter and stop after the set hours, repeating daily. Operating hours can be adjusted.
- Manual Operation: Press the switch to "I" position to turn on, and "O" position to turn off.
Maintenance Features:
- Motor Pre-Filter Cleaning: Ensure the filter pump is switched off and disconnected from power. Turn both plunger valve handles fully clockwise to close valves. Release pressure by opening the sediment release valve on the pre-filter housing. Unscrew the leaf trap cover, remove the basket and leaf trap o-ring from the pre-filter housing. Empty and flush the basket with a garden hose (do not use a metal brush). Clean and rinse the inside of the pre-filter housing and leaf trap o-ring. Reinstall the o-ring, basket, and cover. Close the sediment release valve.
- Filter Media Inspection: All filter and filter media should be inspected regularly to ensure no debris buildup, which could prevent good filtration. Disposal of used filter media should follow local regulations.
- Long Term Storage & Winterization: Before emptying the pool, ensure drain water is directed to an acceptable receptacle. Switch off the unit and disconnect the power cord. When the pool is empty, disconnect all hoses and remove strainers/plunger valves. Unscrew the drain valve cap from the filter tank to drain it thoroughly. Disassemble the pump motor from the tank base. Allow all pieces and hoses to air dry. Coat o-rings and washers (L-shape o-ring, pump hose O-rings, strainer valve assembly step washers, flat strainer rubber washers) with petroleum jelly for storage. Depress the 6-way valve handle and rotate to "N" position to allow water to drain from the valve; leave it in this inactive position. Store all dry pieces and the pump motor in original packaging in a dry place, between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F). Do not cover or wrap the pump motor with plastic bags to avoid condensation or corrosion. Cover the tank with a tarpaulin or plastic sheet.
