1.2.3 Recommended power supply
■
Switching power supply (24VDC)
■
Rectified power
(
With a rectifying capacitor, ripple rate 10% or below
)
・
A switching power supply is recommended as the DC power supply (24VDC±10%) for controllers.
Use a stabilized power supply which has enough capacity and does not fluctuate due to load variation.
・
The power supply shall have a capacity larger than the rated value of MDR.
・
A transformer type power supply cannot be used.
・
Secure a voltage of 24VDC±10% at the power supply terminal of the controller.
・
If the capacity of the power supply is less than the total rated power of connected MDRs, It may
cause the supply voltage drop, which leads malfunction or damage on MDR and/or driver card.
Be sure to use the power supply with a capacity larger than the total rated power of connected MDRs.
・
The power supply should not activate protection with peak current.
*Caution
If AC power is supplied from a transformer that does not comply with “IEC61558-2-16,” use a DC
power supply that complies with “IEC61558-2-16.
The installation of over current protection device in power source might be requested when using an
compliant safety standard which is UL62368-1, IEC62368-1 or CSA22.2 No.62368-1. In this case,
install specified over current protection device.
(Example for description of requested protection device setting)
“Install the fast-acting fuse which has UL certification to meet UL60950-1 standards.”
【
Wiring between power supply and IB
】
・
A voltage drop can occur if the distance between the power supply and IB is too long or an insufficient
wire gauge is used. This may cause malfunctions or damage to the IB driver card.
【
Separation of control power and motor power
】
・
Separate power supplies should be used for control power and motor power.
