An“LC#”or“00”diagnosccodeindicatestheunitisbeginningtolimeupandmustbeflushed.Failuretoflush
theappliancewillcausedamagetotheheatexchanger.Damagecausedbylimebuild‐upisnotcoveredbythe
unit’swarranty.
1. Disconnectelectricalpowertothewaterheater.
2. Closetheshutoffvalvesonboththehotwaterand
coldwaterlines(V3andV4).
3. Connectpumpoutlethose(H1)tothecoldwater
lineatservicevalve(V2).
4. Connectdrainhose(H3)toservicevalve(V1).
5. Pour
4gallonsofundilutedvirgin,foodgrade,white
vinegarintopail.
6. Placethedrainhose(H3)andthehose(H2)tothe
pumpinletintothecleaningsoluon.
7. Openbothse rvicevalves(V1andV2)onthehot
waterandcoldwaterlines.
8. Operatethepump
andallowthecleaningsoluonto
circulatethroughthewaterheaterforatleast1
houratarateof4gallonsperminute(17.6litersper
minute).
9. Turnoffthepump.
10. Rinsethecleaningsoluonfromthewaterheateras
follows:
a. Removethefreeend
ofthedrainhose(H3)from
thepail.Placeinsinkoroutsidetodrain.
b. Closeservicevalve,(V2),andopenshutoffvalve,
(V4).Donotopenshutoffvalve,(V3).
c. Allowwatertoflowthrough thewaterheaterfor
5minutes.
d. Closeshutoffvalve(V4).Whenunit
hasfinished
drainingremovethein‐linefilteratthecoldwater
inletandcleanoutanyresidue.Place filterback
intounitandopenvalve(V4).
FlushingtheHeatExchanger
e. Closeservicevalve,(V1),
andopenshutoffvalve,(V3).
11. Disconnectallhoses.
12. Restoreelectricalpowertothe
waterheater.
