Threading the Machine
• Threading the machine
* Place the felt cushion on the spool pin first
and then the spool of thread. The end of the
thread should be coming off the spool as
shown.
* Raise the thread take-up lever to its highest
position by turning the handwheel counter-
clockwise.
* Raise the presser foot to release the thread
tension.
Draw the end of thread around the thread
guide.

Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread
guide on the left.

Thread the needle from front to back.
Firmly draw the thread up along the left
channel. Slip the thread into the slot of the
thread take-up lever from right to left and
down into the take-up lever eye.

While holding the thread near the spool, draw
the end of the thread down along the right
channel and around the bottom of the guide
plate.
