SETTING
UP
YOUR
R.V.
TRAILER
We recommend that you select a level or nearly level place to be used
for
camping.
There are two
(2)
reasons to
be
in
a
level
position.
First, your coach
is
designed
to
operate
in
a
level position, for both
water drainage system and especially your refrigerator. Second, it is
more
comfortable to live on the
level.
Should a level
site
not be
available,
use
short
2"
x
6"
blocks of wood to raise the Low side
wheels.
Before unhooking the trailer from tow vehicle always mount dolly
wheel tc tongue jack and block trailer wheels to keep trailer from
moving. Unlatch your stabilizer bars if used from your hitch and also
release coupler catch.
Raise the tongue of trailer wi.th crank until free from hitch
ball.
Disconnect electrical cord, safety chains, and break-away switch
cable.
Move tow vehicle away
as
needed.
Now lower
the
tongue to
1"
lower
than
level.
Place stabilizer jacks
(2)
in
the
rear of the trailer under a frame
member
and
not
the
floor. Raise the tongue to
f/2"
above level
position
and
place stabilizer jacks
(2)
under front frame members.
Remember these jacks are to stabilize and eliminate sway in camper,
not
to
raise coach off the ground.
There
should
be nearly equal weight on tongue jack and stabilizer
jacks.
You
are
now ready
to
attach water connections, drain connections,
and electrical power cord.
Turn
on the LAP.-gas tanks and light any pilot lights as needed.
It
is always recommended
to
keep a window or roof vent open slightly
to
aid
in
proper ventilation and
help
eliminate condensation.
