Before coupling to trailer,
inspect all moving parts
of
fifth
wheel. Replace all
bent or worn parts.
5.
Give
complete unit
a
thor-
ough inspection every
1,000 miles.
6.
Make
certain all installa-
tion bolts and nuts
are
tight.
Lubricate the jack by extend-
ing to
full
down position and
insert
SAE
30
oiI through
oil
hole in
top
of
jack.
Do
this
several times per season.
Each fall befme storing coach
remove
the
flat
plate on the
upper hand
of
jack. Examine
the two gears and regrease
if
needed.
Extend jack
leg
to maximum
without
exerting
pressure to
mechanism. Lightly oil the
inner jack leg and retract.
It
is very important to check
tires often
as
noted on
page
15
of Chapter
111.
It
is important to have brakes
adjusted between 200-500
miles after initial break-in
period
by
selling
dealer.
This
operation
may
or
may
not
be
included
as
part
of selling
price.
After
initial break-in it
is
recommended to adjust
brakes after each 5,000
miles
or
at
beginning
of
each
season's camping
trips.
Excessive quan-
tity
of grease.
Excessive
oil
will run and
attract
dirt.
DO
NOT
Ignore
checking
tire
P.S.l.
pressures
often.
It
is
very
impor-
tant to keep
brakes adjusted
as
poorly adjust-
ed
brakes
will
not
function
correctly.
