6. Fan cooling
To increase the duty cycle of the welding unit, it is cooled by a fan.
As for the gas-cooled unit, the fan is controlled via the temperature of the power source, ie. when the welding
unit is started cold, the fan is not in operation.
Only when the power source gets heated by the welding operation does the thermostat switch on the fan, and
off again when the power source has cooled down.
7. Water cooling
The water-cooled model of this welding unit is equipped with a fan in continuous operation.
The torch is cooled by a built-in low-noise, pump-operated water-cooling system. The water tank shouldbe kept
almost full. In case of loss of water due to exchange of torch or hose sections, check water level in the tank.
Low-water switch
If the cooling water pressure drops, a manometric switch cuts off the mains contactor. Welding wire will still be
conveyed, but there is no current flow.
The unit will be operable again when normal working pressure has been restored in the cooling system.
- ONLY use coolant JPP (Order No. 900.020.400)
- Unsuitable coolants can cause property damage and loss of warranty.
- Do not mix with water or other coolant.
- Do not weld without cooling water! Tank must always be full.
- Pump must not run dry, not even for a short time. Deaerating the pump.
- Hazardous to health – keep away from children!
