  If you're experiencing poor feeding of lumber with your Jet Planer, it could be due to inadequate feed roller pressure; try adjusting the feed roller tension, and replace the feed rollers if needed. Also, the planer bed might be rough or dirty, so clean any pitch and residue and wax the planer table. Check if the transmission v-belt is slipping and tighten it. Lastly, the surface of the feed rollers might be clogged, so clear any pitch and residue out of the teeth.

  Snipe can be minimized but not eliminated. If you're getting snipe on your Jet Planer, make sure that table rollers are set to the proper height. Also ensure that long boards are supported with extension rollers. Check that the feed roller pressure is evenly adjusted from front to back by adjusting the feed roller tension. Dull knives can cause snipe, so sharpen them. Finally, butt end to end each piece of stock as they pass through.
